About The Club

Here at Trim Canoe Club we are perfectly situated on the banks of the river Boyne. The clubhouse is directly on the Boyne Blueway which runs to Bective Abbey. The Boyne and other rivers of Meath such as the Blackwater are steeped in history and boast stunning scenery.

Our disciplines include River Running, Freestyle, Sea Kayaking, Lake touring, and Canadian Canoeing. With such a diverse offering you are certain to find your own niche and paddling friends. The club’s primary activity is river running for enthusiasts and beginners alike. We have regular outings on a variety of local stretches with outings several times a year further afield to Dublin, Wicklow and all corners of Ireland. The club also arranges trips outside of Ireland. Previous trips include the UK, France and Slovenia.

Trim Wave

The Trim Swift Wave is an artificial feature constructed to give kayakers a place to hone their skills and have a laugh during the Summer months. The wave appears when the river level is low.

Local Involvement

Trim Canoe Club has worked with Meath Local Sports Partnership to host various community events. We have also provided safety cover on numerous charity events and competitive races.

Boyne Blueway

The Boyne Blueway is a beautiful stretch of river from Inchamore Bridge through Trim town to Bective Mill. At 35km the river can be paddled in sections and at your own pace to savour the rivers natural beauty.

Pool Sessions

Trim Canoe Club host pool sessions for club members during the winter months.
