Trim Canoe Club (TCC) provides a limited number of level 2 beginner courses during Summer months. The course is offered to membership applicants only. We do not provide training commercially. 

The L2 course takes 2 days. Each day is from 10am to 4pm unless otherwise advised.

Application:

Applicants can apply by making direct contact with the club.

Applications can be made for either a specific date that TCC have published or to be added to our contact list for future dates (unpublished).

Prerequisites: 

  • Applicants must be able to swim 25 metres unaided.
  • Applicants must be 18+ on the first day of the course.

Pricing for L2 training is €120 per person (2-day course)

Annual club membership (Jan-Dec)

Payment:

Payment to be sent by bank transfer at least 7 days in advance.

Details for bank transfer will be sent to applicants along with the course “sign-up form” when TCC finalises course details and attendance numbers.

If applicants cannot be reached within the final 4 days of the course without payment then their place will be offered to the public.

Cancellations within 3 days of start of course will incur a 75% cost if that place cannot be filled.

  • Normal swimwear
  • Old runners or water-sports booties
  • Towel
  • Change of clothes
  • Packed lunch
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Sunscreen for face and hands
  • Optional: Light top (non-absorbent or synthetic) (rash vest) for underneath wetsuit

COVID-19: 

In order to protect you and the other participants on the course, we require that you have not travelled outside of Ireland/N.I. and that you have not had symptoms related to COVID-19 in last 3 weeks. There will be a short declaration that you will need to sign and provide basic contact details in case the HSE require them for contact tracing. Cancellation policy:

Payment to be sent at least 7 days in advance.

If participants cannot be reached within 4 days of course and there’s no receipt of payment then their place will be offered to the public.

Cancellations within 3 days will incur a 75% cost if that place cannot be filled.

If the course is cancelled by TCC due to weather, water levels, or any other reason then all participants will receive 100% refund within 3 working days.

TCC reserves the right to cancel without reason in order to protect the privacy of our volunteers.

In the event of a course cancellation then every effort will be made by TCC to reschedule the training for the applicants.

Child Protection:

Trim Canoe Club does not currently have any junior programs and as such we operate our introductory courses for adults only (18+) in order to comply with Canoeing Ireland’s child protection policy. Children in the club as part of a family membership are to be supervised at all times both on and off the water by their legal parents/guardians per our safeguarding policy. Trim Canoe Club cannot currently accommodate individual membership of children (u18) or vulnerable adults.
